At Alinea we perform a wide range of oral surgical procedures: extraction of impacted teeth and wisdom teeth (germectomy, odontosection), autologous and biomaterial bone grafts to prepare for implants, guided bone regeneration (GBR), pre-prosthetic surgery (ridge regularisation, torus removal), removal of cysts and periapical lesions (apicoectomy), frenectomies (lingual and labial), gingivoplasty and soft tissue surgery. All procedures are digitally planned using CBCT.

Computer-guided surgery

We use cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and 3D surgical planning software to guide procedures with millimetric precision. For implants, we manufacture 3D-printed surgical guides that allow implants to be placed exactly in the planned position. This approach significantly reduces surgical time, minimises post-operative discomfort and speeds up recovery.

Bone grafts for implants

When bone volume is insufficient for implant placement, we perform bone graft procedures using state-of-the-art biomaterials and regeneration membranes. Techniques include block bone grafting, guided bone regeneration (GBR), sinus lift and post-extraction alveolar preservation. All materials are biocompatible and scientifically proven.

Conscious sedation for surgery

For anxious patients or more complex procedures, we offer conscious sedation administered and monitored by experienced anaesthetists. The patient remains relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure, without pain or anxiety, and recovers quickly afterwards. Sedation also allows multiple procedures to be carried out in a single session.

How treatment is planned

1. Assessment appointment: Clinical and imaging assessment (panoramic radiograph and/or CBCT) for diagnosis and planning.
2. Digital planning: 3D scan analysis and virtual surgical planning for maximum precision and safety.
3. Pre-operative preparation: Pre-operative instructions, prescription of preventive medication and preparation for sedation if indicated.
4. Surgical procedure: Surgery under local anaesthesia (with or without conscious sedation) using minimally invasive techniques.
5. Immediate post-operative care: Detailed care instructions, prescription of analgesics and anti-inflammatories, and ice application.
6. Follow-up appointments: Post-surgical follow-up including suture removal and checking healing progress.

Is wisdom tooth extraction always necessary?

No. Wisdom tooth extraction is only recommended when they cause problems such as pain, recurrent infection (pericoronitis), damage to adjacent teeth, cysts or lack of space in the arch. At Alinea, we assess each case individually using CBCT for an informed decision.

How long does recovery from oral surgery take?

Recovery varies according to the procedure. A simple extraction may take 3-5 days, while more complex procedures (bone grafts, impacted wisdom teeth) may require 7-14 days for full recovery. We provide detailed post-operative instructions.

Can I choose conscious sedation?

Yes, conscious sedation is available at all our clinics and is especially recommended for anxious patients, long procedures, multiple interventions in the same session or more complex surgeries.

What is a bone graft?

A bone graft is a procedure that adds bone volume to the jaw when there is insufficient bone for implant placement. We use biocompatible biomaterials that stimulate the body’s natural bone regeneration.

How long should I wait between the graft and the implant?

Waiting time varies between 4 and 9 months, depending on the type of graft and its location. In some cases, the implant can be placed at the same time as the graft. Your surgeon will determine the best timing for your case.
